Playa Santiago is located in the district of Alajeró, in the south of La Gomera. Its origin is in a fishing village that finish building two factories of fish canned and a series of installations for the residence of the employees and the shipyards. It is the one of biggest port of the island, with almost half kilometre long and is situated in a full zone of restaurants and trades.
This comfortable port is mainly dedicated to the fishing and to commercial and sportive navigation too. From the dock depart maritime excursions and ferries that connect this calm place with different points of the island. In the cafés and restaurants of Playa de Santiago live together with local traditions and a fishing spirit, that makes the perfect place to taste local cuisine of the Canary Islands.
